Guys…there is no right or wrong time to do stretches. Whether it is first thing in the morning, before your workout, or after your workout…it is important to do them.
Having tight muscles can possibly lead to injury, so it is important to make sure that you do these 5 stretching exercises.
I think it is really good to do each exercise twice for 30 seconds each.
Stretch #1… Knee to Chest. When you first start you are not going to be as flexible, but throughout the stretch continue to pull as much as you can.
Stretch #2… Kneeling Runner Stretch. Take one big step with your leg, and push your hips forward. You can put one hand on your knee and the other on the ground for balance.
Stretch #3… Standing Hamstring Stretch. Slowly lower your hands as close to your toes as possible.
Stretch #4… Spine Twist. Try to keep your shoulders touching the ground with this stretch.
The exercises we have done so far really focus on the lower back and down.
The last exercise is Goalpost Stretches. We tend to be hunched over naturally. For this exercise, bring your shoulders back, put your arms straight up and try to touch your hands together.
