Let’s get this one out of the way. Hunching is bad for your posture. When you let your shoulders roll forward, your pelvis tilts backwards to stop you from kneeling forward. This creates a sort of G-shaped curve in your spine.
2. Crossing Your Legs
But it’s so comfortable! I know… Sometimes there’s no better feeling than crossing your legs. I do it all the time. But much like hunching over, we often don’t realize just how harmful it is to our posture.
3. Dangling Feet
There’s nothing worse than sitting on a chair that’s too high, especially when you have nothing to rest your feet on. When this happens, gravity will pull your feet to the ground. This tilts your pelvis. In order to maintain balance, your core muscles are activated.
4. Sitting Too Far Back
What? But that’s my way of getting comfortable! If I can’t sit forward and can’t lean back, is there even a point to sitting at all? Ideally, leaning back in your chair is a decent alternative to hunching forward. But there is such a thing as leaning too far back.
