Sitting Positions for Meditation (BE COMFORTABLE!)
This video will help you find the right sitting posture and the right meditation cushions for you to be comfortable! Barbara Heffernan, Buddhist and psychotherapist, walks you through a variety of possible meditation cushions and demonstrates sitting positions in zen meditation, tibetan buddhist meditation and vedic meditation. Zen meditation posture usually involves sitting on a zafu and a zabuton. Certain Tibetan traditions use a gomden.
Sitting posture for meditation is very important to avoid back pain during meditation. Find a comfortable meditation posture! Tibetan sitting posture sometimes involves having your eyes open. Watch this video and learn how to sit in meditation and how to sit on a zafu, other cushions or a chair. Chair meditation is just fine as well!
